朝鮮唐津は人気の釉薬。数多くある唐津焼の釉薬のなかでも一番難易度は高く、いい焼き上がりにするには四苦八苦します。
白の藁灰釉と黒の飴釉が流れて混ざり合い、青が出るのが醍醐味。
このぐい呑は「立ちぐい」といって、一番オーソドックスな形。
シンプルなだけに難しい形です。

Chosen-karatsu glazed cup for drinking sake.
Chosen-karatsu ware is glazed with two types of glaze—straw ash glaze and amber glaze—and fired at the highest temperature point within the kiln.
The glaze melts and blends together at high temperatures, producing a blue hue.
The pale pink around the rim is due to the accidental variations of wood-fired kiln firing.
This shape is called “tachi-gui,” the most orthodox form of a guinomi.
It's a difficult form precisely because it's simple.
